Blockchain-based Efficient Energy Trading Platform
The project aims to develop a decentralized energy trading platform for charging electric vehicles (EVs) by leveraging blockchain technology to enable the construction of a secure and efficient platform. In a scenario where a local energy producer (EP) is able to supply public charging stations with renewable energy using smart grids, EV drivers can purchase energy to charge their vehicles directly from local producers using our trading platform. The platform manages and plans the charging process in real time without the need for an intermediary. The platform possesses two key features that facilitate rapid adoption:
To evaluate and confirm the effectiveness of the proposed trading platform, we developed a test framework using lightweight virtualization to simulate a private Ethereum blockchain network. The results indicate that the platform can achieve a throughput of 350 trades per second, with an average transaction time of 3 seconds. These results demonstrate the Ethereum network's capacity to support a massive volume of electric vehicle charging in congested cities during peak hours.
